New Hampshire is a hot tub state by climate and by culture, the winters are long, the mountains are close, and the après-ski jacuzzi is practically a regional institution. The White Mountains anchor everything: Lincoln and Franconia Notch on the west side, the Mount Washington Valley and North Conway on the east, both packed with lodges and condo-hotels where in-room whirlpools and outdoor hot tubs are standard equipment. The booking rhythm is sharply seasonal. Ski holidays, Christmas week, February vacation, and October leaf weekends are the peaks, when the same suite can double and inns set minimums. The value windows are genuinely good: late April through May, and November before the snow, when a fireplace-and-whirlpool weekend in the mountains runs 30-40% under peak with the same view out the window.
