Hotels with Jacuzzi in Room in Ruidoso, New Mexico Jacuzzi Hotels
Ruidoso is New Mexico’s mountain resort town for the southern part of the state. At 6,900 feet in the Sacramento Mountains, it pulls visitors from El Paso (130 miles south), West Texas, and the Permian Basin who want to escape summer heat and drive somewhere that feels different. The resort market is built around Ruidoso Downs horse racing (which runs May through Labor Day), Ski Apache (one of the southern Rockies’ better ski hills at 11,500 feet), and a mix of cabin rentals, small lodges, and hotel properties. In-room jacuzzi and whirlpool suite options exist across several of these property types at prices generally below comparable options in Santa Fe or Taos.
Lincoln County, just east of Ruidoso, is Billy the Kid country, the Lincoln Historic Site in the village of Lincoln preserves the 1880 courthouse where Billy the Kid made his famous escape, and the town looks largely unchanged from that era. Cloudcroft, 45 miles south on US-82, is a smaller mountain village at 8,700 feet with Victorian-era lodging including The Lodge Resort, which has been operating since 1899. Both make worthwhile side trips from a Ruidoso base, particularly if you’re combining history with a mountain escape.
For trip planning: summer weekends in Ruidoso, particularly around racing season (May through Labor Day), are the busiest period, book several weeks ahead for those dates. Ski Apache season runs late November through early April depending on snowpack. The mountain sits on Mescalero Apache land and the tribe operates the ski area. Spring and fall are quieter and typically have lower hotel rates, with fall foliage in the Aspens along the ski road being a specific draw in late September and October.
